MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR CLOUD SECURITY
How many of you are using the cloud or cloud sd-WAN innovations right now? If you are there are some things you need to know. Most of this information lies in cloud security.
Computer security comes attached with some contradictions. Most know they need to have the security, but very few know how to use it properly. There are some who just assume that security will naturally take care of itself. This is true to a certain extent.
Still, it’s better to be informed. The more you aware of how the security works, the less mistakes you will make.

USE LOCAL RESOURCES TO BACK UP YOUR STUFF
Allow me to give you rule number one. Rule number one is to always back things up. This is a mistake I have made a few times. I made the mistake of not backing certain things up. I had to go back in and redo everything. It was frustrating. It was also time-consuming. Please do not make the same mistake.
Back it up using an electronic copy. Why electronic? This way you can still get to the information no matter what. This happens a lot when files get corrupted or stolen. The electronic form will allow you to see the data in its original format.
It’s not a bad idea to back up your stuff using a physical hard drive. This way you can still get to it when there is no internet connection. Connections go down from time to time. A backup in the physical drive will bring it back to you. This works out well for those who have deadlines to make.
STORING SENSITIVE MATERIAL IS A NO-NO
Allow me to preface this one. You can still store it, but it’s not recommended. the security is top-of-the-line, but there is always a chance that someone can get to it. Use the cloud WAN for storing only the things you need to get to frequently. If certain data is not accessed on a daily basis, I would recommend not doing it.
Internet theft is on the rise. It’s gone down a lot from recent years, but there is always the chance. I would avoid storing time-sensitive stuff in there. I would avoid storing your passwords in there too. Any sort of personal information like credit cards or addresses should be stored elsewhere.
What if I need to store some of this stuff? If you are in this situation, make sure you are using encrypted storage. Store it in a way that no one can access it quickly. Come up with a code that only you know. This way only you can get to it.
